Current Activities: On 10/8 we will go in for the surgery to "demass" the tumor, the procedure begins at 7:00am. Jenny is expected to be in ICU for 2 -3 days, and then regular care for an additional 2-3 days. Based on her abilities after that, she may come home to rehab, or she might need some on-site post-operative rehab that she would do at the rehab center at the hospital. After that it should be rest and recuperation for 3 - 4 weeks. Then we start Radiation and Chemo, but that is for another post.
What can you pray for: Healing (wouldn't it be cool for the surgeon not to find anything to "demass"), Wisdom for the Surgeon, That the procedure goes well, and that there are no meaningful impacts as a part of the process, fast recovery for Jenny.
Ways you can help:
- Pray!
- Sign-up for a meal at http://www.takethemameal.com/meals.php?t=DXXH2628
- Hug your spouse and kids (or friends) and tell them how much you love them.
- Be confident that God is at work, even in this situation.
More to come later...
Hello all.
ReplyDeleteWe're here on vacation at the beach and wanted you all to know that Ski and I and all of the Skibums prayed for you all today. This was not the news that I was hoping to hear, but I know that none of this is a surprise to our loving Lord.
You are all heavy on our hearts.
You would have been blessed to hear my youngest two, Iz and Lyd, pray so earnestly for you all. Their hearts hold so much wisdom for ones so young. They don't know you very well, but they reflected on Jenny's joyous worship of the Lord. I do not think that there was a dry face among us.
There is nothing like looking at the sea and knowing that ones you love are suffering to really cause you to reflect. And I have endeavored to enjoy every moment with my kids on this trip, realizing anew that God's plans are not my own and every day is a gift from His hand.
Ski and I know that on one hand, God will meet your every need and pour out His overwhelming grace upon all of you in the days ahead, but we are no less sorrowful for your journey. We love you all and are in your service if you need anything at all in which we could help you.
Thank you for your Godly example to us all of these years. It is a joy to call you our brothers and sisters in Christ.
We love you all!!
We're far apart, and would have had no idea of this trial, except for your Fb post. Having said that, we will certainly be praying for Jenny, you, & the kids.
ReplyDeleteWe've rallied the troops on our end to pray!! We love you all dearly but rest in knowing our Jesus loves you most. Thank you for providing a place where we can be updated. Bless you!! He is greater- amen? Gisele

ReplyDelete"Fear not I am with you, O be not dismayed,
ReplyDeleteFor I am your God, I will still give you aid:
I'll strengthen you, help you, and cause you to stand,
Upheld by My gracious, omnipotent hand.
When through the deep waters I call you to go,
The rivers of sorrow will not overflow,
For I will be with you, your trials to bless,
And sanctify to you your deepest distress.
When through fiery trials your pathway shall lie,
My grace all-sufficient shall be your supply
The flames shall not hurt you, I only design
Your dross to consume and your gold to refine." Is 43
Our love and prayers are with each one of you. John and Beverly Butler

ReplyDeleteJenny, Ray and all my beautiful nephews and niece, we have been praying earnestly for you all and I have put you on prayer lists all over the world. Praying for an overwhelming supernatural healing and peace that passes understanding. I am thanking God that He has carved each one of you on the palm of His hand. Just waiting for God to show His glory in this whole situation. Love to you all...Kathy and Jere
ReplyDeleteThe Cook family is fervently praying! We do know that when objects come into the presence of our Almighty Father, their make-up changes: water turns to wine, rocks gush water, the sea becomes like a floor, storms cease . . . may the make-up of this tumor change. May you all find comfort knowing that Jesus sees Jenny, Jesus sees your family, (see Luke 13:12-13) and He cares for you. May His peace flow through your hearts and home during this difficult time. We love you guys!!! Sherri and family
ReplyDeleteThe Padgetts in Atlanta are praying for you and your beautiful family. May the Lord fill your heart with hope in Him as you cry out for strength, grace and truth. Thank you for sharing your story so that God's eternal glory shines brighter than the darkness of this earthly trial. You are a tough Italian, sorella mia!
ReplyDeleteWith much love, Nita and John
Hi, Ray. My name is Kellie (Monroe) Anderson and was a friend of Jenny's in high school. I haven't been in touch with her since then, so it's been a long time, but John Simmons posted this link on Facebook for us to get caught up on what's going on. Please know that I am praying for Jenny for healing, and for your whole family, that the Lord would draw you closer to Him during this trial. I'm grateful you are believers, and are in His hands! Much love, Kellie
