An eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison

Jenny has spent the last 36 hours or so in bed, in a semi-awake state, as I observe her sleeping, in a state of transition from being on this earth to going to her eternal home, I wonder what she is experiencing. The sentiments expressed by Paul in his letter to the Corinthians come to mind.

"So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal."

I am hoping that she is starting to get visions of the unseen, eternal things. She seems at peace, opening her eyes every once in a while, then she slips back into slumber. She has run the race well, preparing for that weight of glory...

Thank you all for your prayers and support.

  13. Jenny has run the race well and Jesus is ready to welcome her home! And there is no fear for her because of God's perfect love. God has used her to encourage and point so many people to Jesus. What a full and meaningful life she has lived, although it is too short in our opinions. Praying for peace and strength for the family. You are all loved.

  14. May the comfort and peace of our Savior, who waits for Jenny with open arms, be poured out in abundance upon your dear family. Perhaps Liz Ecelbarger will be among the greeting committee waiting to welcome Jenny to heaven--two such dear and faithful daughters of the King. Praying for you. Love, the Sawyer family

Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

She was always the encouragement, greeting me with a smile and ready to give a hug. What an amazing woman, what a legacy she will leave. With much love, Jackie Pate

  23. Ray, praying for all of you. Many memories are going through my mind. Easter Sunday dinners at your home (particularly one in your new home when a grandchild of mine decided to decorate the walls with red permanent marker, I was horrified, Jenny was gracious, kind and laughed about it); Jenny's wonderful laugh, her great sense of humor, her encouragement, her compassion, her genuine care for me over the years, her encouragement for my daughter as she home schooled her children, her prayers for me during stressful times, her wonderful rolls, her deep love for her family, etc. And always gently pointing me to the Lord, always! What a great blessing she has been to all of us. And now, what an example. What an example all of you have been. We are so grateful! Love you all.
