First Visit in the Intensive Care Unit

Charlie and I just got a few minutes with Jenny this morning, they were taking her out to do the post operation MRI, she was awake, talking, and hooked up to a bunch of stuff. We told her about all the people that were here in the hospital chapel for the afternoon yesterday praying for her, and that a dear friend had flown into Charlotte for the day, just to be here to pray for her, she responded with surprise and disbelief.

When we told her that Dr. Allen came by, she said - "the orthodonist?" which tells me that her memory seems to be working... We held hands and she was squeezing my hand as we spoke, and she was wiggling her toes.

Charlie asked her how she was feeling and she responded with a classic "raised eyebrow" look that conveyed "really, Charlie?"

It was all very encouraging , and a result of all of your prayers, we serve a great God! In my reading for today, it told of God's healing power, and the power of prayer:

And the king said to the man of God, “Entreat now the favor of the LORD your God, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored to me.” And the man of God entreated the LORD, and the king's hand was restored to him and became as it was before.

(1 Kings 13:6 ESV)

Let us continue to entreat the one that restores!

  3. Yaaayyy, God!! Thank you, Lord.
    Much love to Jenny...
Interesting that you used the word restore - that is the specific word God put on my heart yesterday and led me to pray for (amid the many other prayers for healing). His Word says He will tell us what He is doing. So, let the healing continue...and may God be magnified more and more!
